UAW Urges Support for Fuel-Efficient Vehicles
Made in the USA

As automakers idle large-vehicle plants
while shifting production to car plants, the United Auto
Workers call for new policies and funding to encourage
smaller, fuel-efficient vehicles to be made in the USA.
In a column in the Detroit News this month, Ron
Gettelfinger, President of the UAW, stresses that
production incentives "are crucial to creating an

Product Recall Web Site
In the interest of
protecting the health, safety, and welfare of the people of
Michigan, the Michigan Department of Community Health (MDCH) is
now providing a direct link to a complete list of national
consumer product recalls.
Several federal
agencies routinely monitor the quality of consumer products
purchased in America. From time to time, these agencies -
in cooperation with private industry - issue both mandatory and
voluntary recalls on items that might pose a risk to U.S.
citizens.
The state Web site is
